During a recent government meeting, Amy Hanson, the branch manager of the Crockwood Library, presented an overview of the library's upcoming summer programs aimed at engaging the community, particularly children and adults.
The Dayton Metro Library's Summer Challenge Program will run from June 1st to July 31st, allowing children aged 0 to 18 to participate. Registration is open online or in-person at the library, where participants can receive a free tracker and bookmark. The program encourages reading and learning through various activities, rewarding children with free books and a library tote bag for completing specific milestones.
In a new initiative, the library is also introducing an Adult Summer Challenge featuring a bingo card. Adults can win library swag and be entered into a contest for four Kings Island tickets by completing five boxes on the card.
Additionally, the library will provide free lunches for anyone under 18 from 11 AM to noon, Monday through Friday, until August 2nd. This initiative aims to support local families during the summer months.
Hanson concluded her presentation by emphasizing the library's commitment to keeping the community active and engaged throughout the summer.
