Community urged to lock cars amid rising thefts

In a recent government meeting, Chief Saunders highlighted a rise in vehicle thefts and incidents of individuals rummaging through unlocked cars in the community. Residents were urged to ensure their vehicles are locked to help mitigate these issues. The village has taken steps to raise awareness, sharing this information on their social media platforms.

Looking ahead, the village has scheduled several community events. A public works services webinar is set for June 20th at 6 PM, with registration available on the village website. Additionally, two pickleball events are planned for June 7th and June 22nd at MapleWell, with sign-ups through the recreation department.

The EP High School Foundation will host a golf outing on June 7th at Coyote Run Golf Course, and the first summer concert featuring The Stingrays is scheduled for June 9th at Klein Park. A senior health fair will take place on June 12th at the fire department, alongside a paper shred event at Yukage Field.

Trustee Anderson reminded residents to adhere to traffic regulations, particularly at stop signs, emphasizing the importance of safety as school lets out for summer. The meeting concluded with a reminder of the annual Independence Day parade and fireworks on June 28th, promising a vibrant start to the summer festivities.
