Healthcare crisis deepens as charity care demands surge

The current practice of housing these patients at the hospital has been deemed costly, as it occupies beds that could be utilized for other patients in need of immediate care.

To address this issue, a proposal was made to allocate funding from the Department of Human Services (DHS) to transition these patients to contracted long-term care facilities.
