City faces $1.3 million deficit as budget cuts proposed

Key proposals included the elimination of two positions funded by the Beach Fund: a housing rehabilitation technician and a housing manager. In light of anticipated vacancies within the police department, the council proposed an increase in the police overtime budget to $400,000 for the upcoming fiscal year. Additionally, the council discussed the potential for cost reductions in the summer concert series, which is scheduled to take place every Thursday in August. The council is seeking input on how to best manage this event in light of the city's financial constraints.
