Community Demands Accountability in County Leadership

During a recent St. Clair County Board of Commissioners meeting, community members voiced their concerns and aspirations regarding local governance, election integrity, and leadership accountability.

One resident, expressing a desire for greater engagement with local representatives, emphasized the importance of focusing on local issues rather than national ones. They specifically criticized a candidate, Joe Pavlov, for promoting immigration reform, arguing that such matters are primarily federal and beyond the scope of state representatives.

Eileen Tesh, vice chair of the St. Clair County Republican Party, raised significant concerns about election integrity, particularly regarding the use of Dominion voting machines. She referenced ongoing legal issues involving the company and called for a discussion on the potential removal of these machines from the county's election process.

Sherry Shoecraft highlighted perceived conflicts of interest involving Chairman Jeff Bohm, urging the board to address these issues to maintain public trust.
