Luzerne County official calls out political stunts and lies

During a recent government meeting, public speaker Mark Rabo expressed his deep frustration regarding the conduct of local council members and the handling of allegations made during a previous meeting. Rabo criticized what he described as a \"political stunt\" aimed at garnering attention rather than addressing serious concerns through appropriate legal channels, such as involving the district attorney or the FBI.

Rabo, who has been actively involved in local governance since the inception of home rule, emphasized the dedication of past council members and community members who have worked diligently for the betterment of Luzerne County. He called for accountability, urging the county council to file a resolution with the state government commission to bring three members of a study commission before them under oath to clarify their allegations.

Additionally, Rabo took aim at the ongoing debate surrounding the use of drop boxes for elections, asserting that claims about their necessity are misleading. He referenced a ruling by the state Supreme Court, which allowed for drop boxes during the COVID-19 pandemic primarily for health and safety reasons, rather than convenience. Rabo concluded his remarks by urging council members to act professionally and to stop spreading misinformation that he believes is detrimental to the community.
