Major multifamily development proposal sparks planning commission debate

In a recent government meeting, the Maricopa Planning Commission discussed the major development review case number DRP 24-07, concerning the proposed multifamily development at the Rohrer Stonegate site. The project, presented by Derek Shearer from the Development Services Department, is being proposed by Iplan Consulting on behalf of Stonegate BFC LLC and Rohrer's Companies.

The development is planned for approximately 9.56 acres of land located at the northwest corner of North Stonegate Road and West Allen Stevens Parkway. The meeting served as a platform for preliminary discussions, allowing the commission to address the applicant's plans, which include site, floor, elevation, landscape, and photometric designs.

This initial review marks a significant step in the planning process for the multifamily project, which aims to enhance the residential landscape of Maricopa. Further discussions and evaluations will follow as the commission considers the implications of the proposed development on the community.
