Community rallies for Adam Smith as new superintendent

During a recent East Baton Rouge Parish School Board meeting, community members and educators rallied in support of Adam Smith's candidacy for the position of superintendent. Caleb Holmes, representing the Louisiana Association of Educators, passionately endorsed Smith, emphasizing the need for a leader who embodies accountability and dedication to the community. Holmes also presented an acronym to highlight Smith's qualifications: \"A for accelerate, D for driven, A for accountable, M for meticulous, S for smart, M for motivated, I for intelligent, T for truthful, and H for honest.\" He concluded with a call to action, urging the board to make the right choice for the future of the school system.

Valencia Johnson, president of the East Baton Rouge Parish Association of Educators, shared her personal experience with Smith, recounting how he addressed the issue of one-to-one device distribution in her school. Johnson praised Smith for his commitment, stating that he personally delivered the devices to her school, much to the delight of the students. Her testimony underscored Smith's responsiveness and dedication to the needs of educators and students alike.

The meeting highlighted a growing consensus among educators and community members that Smith is the right candidate to lead the district forward, with calls for the board to finalize his appointment as superintendent.
