Community Warned of Craft Fair Scams Ahead of Event

In a recent government meeting, officials addressed concerns regarding a scam related to an upcoming craft fair. A participant reported that individuals were falsely advertising available spots for the event on Facebook, leading to at least one person being scammed out of $50 for a booth and an additional $50 for parking. The official emphasized that the organization does not charge for booth spaces and urged the public to disregard any advertisements not directly from them.

The craft fair is scheduled for next Saturday, running from 10 AM to 4 PM. Attendees were informed of traffic pattern changes, particularly advising that the best route to access the event would be via Brookville and Johnstone Road, as this would allow easier access to food trucks located on Blue Bridal. The meeting underscored the importance of vigilance against scams, especially as the event approaches.
