Transit center parking debate sparks housing development plans

During a recent government meeting, officials discussed the future of the Montclair Transcenter, particularly regarding its parking capacity amid potential development projects. Currently, the Transcenter offers 1,600 parking spaces, but plans to transform the surrounding lots into housing and other developments could necessitate a reevaluation of this capacity.

The Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) has conducted studies on parking demands at various Gold Line stations, revealing that the initial projections for parking needs were overly optimistic. However, Montclair was not included in these studies due to its location in San Bernardino County, which did not collaborate with LA Metro on this matter.
