Proposal to save key teaching positions gains momentum

During a recent government meeting, a significant discussion centered around the preservation of educational positions within the district. A member of the committee expressed a strong commitment to maintaining the roles of Exceptional Children (EC) teachers, Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG) teachers, and Educational Classroom Teaching Assistants (ECTAs).

The committee member proposed a motion to save all 17 EC teacher positions, 12 AIG teacher positions, and 23 ECTA positions, totaling 29 certified positions as outlined by Miss Sutton. This recommendation reflects a strategic approach to ensure that essential educational support roles remain intact, emphasizing the importance of these positions in fostering an inclusive and effective learning environment.
