Lawrence County students shine at national competition

During a recent government meeting, significant updates were shared regarding the progress of Lawrence County's educational initiatives and safety measures. The human resources department reported a successful hiring campaign, filling numerous positions vacated by retirees and other departures, ensuring that schools are adequately staffed for the upcoming fall semester.

Director Atkins highlighted the impressive achievements of nearly 100 students from Lawrence County who participated in the National Beta Convention in Savannah, Georgia. Notable accomplishments included a third-place finish in the 4th and 5th grade engineering category and several other top placements across various competitions, showcasing the talent and dedication of local students.
