In a recent meeting of the Lake County Board of Supervisors, Captain Billy Richard Inman Jr. was honored with a proclamation recognizing his 32 years of dedicated service to the community as a firefighter. The ceremony highlighted Inman's extensive career, which began in 1992 as a seasonal firefighter and culminated in his promotion to fire captain in 2008.
Inman, who grew up in Covelo and Corning, has been a pivotal figure in the Lake County Fire Protection District, known for his heroic actions during significant incidents such as the Clayton fire in 2016 and the Sulfur fire in 2017. His leadership and commitment not only protected numerous homes but also served as a source of inspiration for his colleagues and community members.
The proclamation, presented by Board Chair Bruno Sabatier, commended Inman for his mentorship and the profound impact he has had on the lives of residents and fellow firefighters. As he prepares for retirement in July, the board expressed gratitude for his extraordinary service and wished him well in his future endeavors.
Additionally, the meeting included a brief intermission before moving on to discuss appointments to the Blue Ribbon Committee for the rehabilitation of Clear Lake, indicating ongoing efforts to address environmental concerns in the region.
