Community leaders demand action on flooding crisis

He emphasized that for five months, he has sought to be placed on the agenda to address these concerns but has faced delays. In a separate discussion, Agnes Witter, a resident of Flagler Avenue, detailed the persistent flooding issues in her neighborhood, exacerbated by recent heavy rains and changes in local infrastructure. Witter highlighted that while her home has been fortunate enough to flood only once, her neighbors have faced significant water damage multiple times. She criticized the city for failing to address the flooding, which she attributed to the elimination of natural drainage areas in the area. Witter called for city officials to investigate the flooding and explore solutions, such as the creation of retention ponds, to manage stormwater runoff effectively.
