In a recent government meeting, officials from the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Center outlined significant advancements in their programs aimed at fostering economic development and supporting historically under-resourced businesses in Wake County. One of the flagship programs, \"Launch Wake County,\" has already impacted nearly 1,000 individuals, with a current cohort of 180 small businesses. Notably, 77% of participants are female and 78% are minorities, highlighting the program's commitment to inclusivity. The director noted that entrepreneurs of color and women can significantly contribute to closing the wealth gap, as they tend to generate substantially higher income compared to traditional workers.

The curriculum has been revamped to include \"inclusive excellence for entrepreneurs,\" specifically designed for businesses generating less than $30,000 in revenue.
