CDM Smith, a global firm with over 6,000 employees, has a significant presence in Michigan and is currently engaged in major projects, including a $70 million infrastructure overhaul in downtown Detroit. Their representative, Munar Azam, detailed their involvement in various projects across the state, including a recent $1.5 million design project in Muskegon.

A key point of discussion was the condition of a local bridge, which has been closed for an extended period. The city engineer clarified that while the initial assessment indicated the bridge needed to be closed, the determination of whether it could be repaired or would require replacement remains uncertain.
