Community gears up for spectacular safe Fourth of July celebration

The upcoming Fourth of July celebrations in Strongsville are set to be a family-friendly event, featuring fireworks, food trucks, and activities for children. The festivities will kick off at 6 PM on Thursday, July 4, with fireworks scheduled to begin at dusk. Local officials emphasized the importance of safety during the event, with both the police and fire departments ensuring a secure environment for attendees.

Community support plays a crucial role in making the event possible, with local sponsors, including the Pantech family, the Strongsville Chamber of Commerce, and the Rotary Club, covering the costs of the fireworks and other amenities. Officials encouraged residents to express gratitude to these sponsors for their contributions.

In addition to the Fourth of July preparations, the finance department reported the completion of the 2023 audit with no major issues. A new online fraud reporting and training program will soon be available for staff, as mandated by the state. The law department confirmed that all ordinances and resolutions on the agenda were in proper legal form.
