Residents of Reynoldsburg voiced strong opinions during a recent city council meeting regarding a proposed four-story low-income apartment complex near the downtown area. Sherry Vantile, a resident of the nearby Reynoldsburg Park condos, articulated fears that the project would exacerbate existing traffic issues, citing near misses at local intersections. Melvin Sedlock echoed these sentiments, arguing that the proposed development was out of scale with the surrounding infrastructure and could drive away existing businesses.

Conversely, supporters of the project, including local teacher Michael Streifelt, emphasized the need for affordable housing for essential workers such as teachers and first responders. Streifelt noted that the rising cost of living has made it difficult for young professionals to find suitable housing in Reynoldsburg, and he praised the city’s efforts to create more accessible rental options.

Other residents, like Ricardo Montos and Denise Parker, expressed concerns about safety and the potential for increased crime, particularly given the presence of elderly residents in the area. Parker specifically criticized the council for considering the project in a location already burdened by heavy traffic.

Stacy Conkorian, another resident, highlighted the positive aspects of the development, suggesting it could provide housing for her mother and other community members struggling with high living costs. She urged the council to approve the project, framing it as a vital opportunity for local families.
