City launches major infrastructure projects amid contractor concerns

The Public Works Director provided updates on several ongoing projects. The street resurfacing initiative commenced on Monday, with milling already underway at City Hall's parking lot. Paving is scheduled to take place while the building is closed, with expectations to complete the work within a week, weather permitting. Additionally, the Washington and Klein Street Sewer Project has begun, starting from the wastewater plant and progressing toward Buskey Avenue.

Progress on the amphitheater was also discussed, with the roof nearing completion. However, additional work is required for the interiors of the dressing rooms, which were not included in the original bid. The General Services Department will need to procure materials to finalize this aspect of the project.

Lastly, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is set to conduct temporary repairs on a railroad bridge next Monday. This will involve the installation of temporary traffic signals and a brief closure of Manahan Street, with traffic rerouted to ensure safety during the repairs. The project is expected to be completed by Wednesday.
