City plans for explosive population growth by 2035

During a recent government meeting, officials discussed the projected population growth of the city, highlighting significant developments that are expected to contribute to this increase. Currently, the city has surpassed a population of 4,000, and projections indicate that by 2030, the population could reach approximately 14,000. By 2035, estimates suggest the number may rise to around 16,000.

Council member Dave Brown, who is overseeing a capital improvement project, confirmed that the city is actively planning for this growth. He noted that the city is currently the fastest-growing county in the nation, with Houston being the fastest-growing city within it. Brown emphasized that the projections are based on actual housing developments that have already been pre-approved and zoned, ensuring that these numbers are grounded in reality rather than speculation.

Additionally, city officials have made provisions for essential services, such as water and sewer systems, to accommodate the anticipated population increase. The discussions reflect a proactive approach to urban planning as the city prepares for its rapid expansion in the coming years.
