Community mourns sudden loss of Racine County Executive

In a heartfelt moment, the superintendent acknowledged the retirement of Sherry Wiley Lehi, a dedicated teacher who has served the district for 40 years, primarily in fourth and fifth grades at Dyer Elementary. Lehi is currently assisting with summer school but plans to retire officially after the program concludes. Her contributions to the district were celebrated, with the superintendent expressing gratitude for her commitment and impact on students and staff.

The meeting also included a moment of silence for Jonathan Delagrave, the Racine County Executive, who passed away unexpectedly on June 28. The board members honored his memory before moving on to the consent agenda, which included the approval of board minutes and items from committee meetings.
