City bans fireworks ahead of July Fourth celebrations

In a recent government meeting, officials announced a significant change in public safety messaging as the city prepares for the upcoming July 4th celebrations. Signs indicating \"brush clearance\" will be replaced with \"fireworks prohibited\" notices throughout the city, including parks and prominent locations. Additionally, the city is set to host a Household Hazardous Waste event on Saturday, July 20th, from 9 AM to 2 PM, in collaboration with LA County. Residents will have the opportunity to safely dispose of hazardous materials such as motor oil, paint, fluorescent light bulbs, batteries, and other chemicals. Unlike regular clean-up events, participants will remain in their vehicles while staff assist in the disposal process, ensuring a streamlined and safe experience.
