City internship program empowers future leaders and innovators

The City of Sterling Heights celebrated the conclusion of its second annual college summer internship program during a recent city council meeting. The program, which hosted 19 interns across various city departments, has been recognized for its positive impact on both the interns and the city’s operations.

HR Coordinator Sarah Skowdin highlighted the interns' contributions, emphasizing their involvement in strategic projects that provided fresh perspectives and valuable support to city initiatives. The program aims to foster professional growth among students while also benefiting the city by integrating young minds into its workforce.

Mayor Taylor and city council members expressed their gratitude towards the interns, encouraging them to consider careers in public service. Council member Misses Zarco noted the importance of the interns' experiences, while Misses Swarowski reflected on her own positive internship experience from years ago. Council member Mister Radke commended the interns for their impressive credentials and hard work.
