City considers high-tech cameras to combat park crime

Officials emphasized the importance of this system in deterring crime, particularly vandalism and drug-related activities, which have been reported in various parks. Additionally, the meeting included discussions about the rehabilitation of the airport sign at Highway 90 and Castro Avenue. Officials presented conceptual designs for a new sign that would incorporate various modes of transportation, including rail and truck, alongside aircraft silhouettes. The estimated cost for the new sign is between $50,000 and $60,000, with plans to issue a request for proposals to secure bids for construction.
