Community honors legacy of veteran photographer Warren Bond

During a recent meeting of the Clayton County Board of Commissioners, two significant recognitions were made, honoring local veterans and community contributors.

The meeting began with a tribute to US Army Staff Retired JB Newton, named Veteran of the Month. This recognition highlights the county's commitment to honoring those who have served in the military.

Following this, Commissioner Gail Hambrick presented a heartfelt tribute to the late Warren Bond Sr., founder of Warren Bond Photography. Hambrick shared personal anecdotes about Bond's impact on her life and his dedication to the community, noting that he had been entrusted with capturing crime scene photos for 62 years. The plaque presented in his memory acknowledged his \"outstanding commitment, dedication, and service to Clayton County,\" emphasizing his role in documenting the community's history through photography.

The meeting also included a brief acknowledgment of newly elected Commissioner Alaina Reeves, who was present, and a moment of reflection from Clerk Rushen, who shared his recent personal loss.

The Board then moved on to consider the consent agenda, marking a transition to the administrative aspects of the meeting. These tributes underscore the Board's ongoing efforts to recognize and celebrate the contributions of individuals who have shaped the community.
