New businesses and community projects spark excitement in Maple Grove

The upcoming planning commission meeting originally scheduled for June 24th has been canceled, with the next meeting now set for July 29th. On the agenda for this meeting are several significant items, including a variance for a sign along I-94, a proposed seven-lot subdivision in the Elm Road area, and a Planned Unit Development (PUD) for a 132-unit housing project designated for residents aged 55 and older at Village Arbor Lakes. Additionally, a zoning ordinance text amendment concerning two-stall garages will be discussed.

The city is also actively working on a park trail study that aims to enhance connectivity between Central Park, Arbor Lakes, and the Maple Lakes and Teal Lake Parks. Community feedback is being gathered through online surveys, with outreach efforts planned during local events such as Chalk Fest and Juneteenth.
