During a recent government meeting, Superintendent Gammon provided an update on several key initiatives and achievements within the school district. Notably, the district is set to launch a refreshed website next week, incorporating feedback from staff, students, parents, and community members.
In addition to the website update, Gammon highlighted a new summer school class, \"Women in Welding,\" which has been well-received. Led by Mr. Schindler at Milton High School, this program offers students hands-on experience in welding and insights into career opportunities in the trades, featuring guest speakers who are women currently working in these fields.
The meeting also celebrated the accomplishments of the district's Future Farmers of America (FFA) members. Three students participated in the World Dairy Expo, which includes an international berry judging contest, while others attended the Washington Leadership Conference, focusing on leadership skills and advocacy.
Furthermore, the district recognized three boys golf team members—Brett Wheeland, Michael Axe, and Jason Gray—who were named All State Academic honorees, showcasing the commitment to academic excellence alongside athletic achievement.
The meeting concluded with an invitation for questions regarding these district highlights, reflecting an ongoing commitment to transparency and community engagement.
