New jail repairs spark urgent funding discussions

George also highlighted ongoing issues with a 15-ton air conditioning unit that services the administrative area. He noted that the unit, which is over a decade old, is likely beyond repair, estimating replacement costs at around $29,000. The consensus among officials was to proceed with the replacement rather than invest further in repairs.

The meeting also addressed the need for a fence around the event center, specifically for the generator area. A motion was made to approve the fence contract, contingent upon final drawings and clarifications regarding gas line placements. This motion was also met with unanimous support.
