Community rallies for Liberty Fest and Route 66 celebration

During a recent government meeting, discussions highlighted the importance of community engagement and upcoming local events. The EARS organization was recognized for its significant contributions to Liberty Fest and other community activities, with volunteers playing a crucial role in facilitating these events.

The meeting also touched on the challenges faced during digital communications, particularly in coordinating events with participants from Texas, where connectivity issues hindered effective dialogue. Despite these challenges, plans are already underway for next year's events, with the location yet to be determined.

City Manager Ted Anderson announced that July 1st will mark the start of Liberty Fest activities, including a car show, a 5K run, and a parade featuring a notable grand marshal. These events aim to foster community spirit and participation.

Additionally, the first Route 66 Midpoint Corridor rally was celebrated, which saw participants visiting 11 cities along the historic route. The event included a series of stops for selfies and culminated in a gathering at Chicken Shack for breakfast and awards. The enthusiasm for this rally suggests a promising future for similar events, with hopes for continued growth and community involvement.
