Council debates controversial handicap parking changes

In a recent government meeting, discussions centered around handicap parking petitions and the scheduling of future agenda items. These items include a request to relocate a bus stop at 18 Chestnut Street and a proposal for a permanent parking ban on both sides of Vernon Street.

Jose Santana, a resident of 25 Delawanda Drive, voiced his apprehension about losing parking space in front of his home, suggesting that the handicap parking could be moved further south where more parking is available. Ron Dolet, a resident of 24 Delawanda Drive, echoed Santana's sentiments, advocating for the relocation of the parking space to better serve the neighborhood.
