Health experts warn of rising viral disease threat

The tiger mosquito, which is active during the day, poses unique challenges for prevention. Unlike other mosquitoes that are primarily active at dawn and dusk, the tiger mosquito's behavior necessitates different protective measures. Health experts emphasized the importance of avoiding areas with standing water, where these mosquitoes breed, and recommended the use of DEET insect repellent.

Officials also highlighted the need for individuals in heavily forested areas to take extra precautions, such as wearing long sleeves and pants, despite the high temperatures.
