Governor's budget fuels job growth and infrastructure expansion

In a recent government meeting, officials highlighted significant developments following the governor's approval of the state budget, which includes a $7 million allocation to expand the gas line between Loews and Bismarck. This expansion is expected to facilitate the establishment of IKO, a company projected to create between 70 and 100 new jobs in the region, with an average salary of $50,000. This initiative is anticipated to inject over $9 million annually into the local economy through these new positions.

The funding for the gas line project will not solely rely on state resources; IKO is also contributing millions of dollars to the effort. This collaboration aims to minimize disruption, as the company plans to transport materials directly to their factory, avoiding the need for truck traffic on local roads.

Additionally, the meeting addressed a $500,000 state grant designated for Deloge, aimed at expanding water and sewer lines on the east side of Highway 67. This infrastructure improvement is intended to attract more businesses to the area, which has seen limited development in the past.
