City Council Approves Controversial Development Amid Density Concerns

In a recent city council meeting, members discussed the approval of the Arcadia Springs Development, which involves a map amendment to the land development code of Saratoga Springs. The proposal received a positive recommendation from the local Homeowners Association (HOA), which plays a crucial role in determining community developments. For projects without an HOA, a petition from 60% of residents is required for approval.

Council members expressed concerns about the potential increase in density due to the development, particularly regarding parking and traffic impacts. The HOA has recommended that all parking for the proposed accessory dwelling units (ADUs) be off-street, aligning with city ordinance requirements.
