City launches passport pop up fairs to boost access

During a recent government meeting, Clerk Fuentes announced an initiative aimed at enhancing access to passport services through a series of \"passport pop-up fairs\" in collaboration with the library department. This initiative will bring passport processing services directly to local communities, starting with events scheduled in council districts 8 and 5.

The first event will take place on July 26 from 10 AM to 1 PM at the San Ysidro Library, located at 4235 Bayard Boulevard, where bilingual assistance will be available. The second event is set for August 2 at the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library from 10 AM to 1 PM. Residents can book appointments and find more information on the city’s official website.

Clerk Fuentes expressed gratitude to various individuals and teams involved in coordinating this effort, highlighting the collaborative nature of the initiative. The meeting also included a brief mention of item 30, which has been postponed for future discussion.

Following the announcements, the public comment period was opened for proclamation items, allowing community members to voice their opinions on specific agenda items.
