Council member proposes plan for fixed wing aircraft to fight crime

Kaplan expressed that this amendment not only reinforces the council's support for transitioning to more effective technology but also establishes a clear timeline for its implementation.

Council Member Gallo expressed support for the amendment but raised questions regarding its compatibility with the current agenda item title. City Attorney Ryan Richardson clarified that while the amendment may not fit within the title, it could be included as a budget directive or scheduled as an informational report for further discussion.

Kaplan confirmed that the draft amendment had been shared with relevant legal and staff members, who were supportive of the initiative. Following the discussion, it was agreed that Kaplan would incorporate the amendment into the upcoming budget packet due Thursday, ensuring it aligns with the council's procedural requirements.
