Israel orders mass evacuations as military strikes intensify

Israel has issued mass evacuation orders in Khan Yunus, indicating a potential redeployment of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) troops to the southern Gaza city. During a visit to an Israeli military college, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel is close to dismantling Hamas' military capabilities in Gaza. He reported on the progress made during a recent tour of the Gaza division, claiming that the IDF is nearing the conclusion of its operations against Hamas' forces. Netanyahu emphasized that efforts to eliminate the remnants of Hamas will continue.

In northern Gaza, military operations are ongoing, with reports of large explosions and tank movements in a neighborhood east of Gaza City. The Israeli army has confirmed the killing of several militants and the discovery of substantial weapon caches during its fifth day of operations in the area.

In a separate development, new laws took effect across the United States on July 1st, with Florida implementing over 180 measures. Among these, a notable law in California mandates that credit card companies provide banks with special codes to track purchases made at gun stores, aimed at identifying suspicious sales for law enforcement. Conversely, states like Georgia, Iowa, Tennessee, and Wyoming have enacted laws that prohibit the use of such tracking codes, highlighting the ongoing divisions in American gun legislation.
