Fullerton gears up for spectacular Fourth of July celebration

In a recent city council meeting, officials gathered to discuss the upcoming Fourth of July celebration in Fullerton, which promises a full day of activities aimed at fostering community spirit and engagement. Parks and Recreation Manager Christian Hernandez presented a detailed overview of the event, scheduled for Thursday, July 4th, highlighting a variety of attractions designed to appeal to residents of all ages.

The festivities will kick off with a car show from 10 AM to 2 PM, featuring approximately 50 registered vehicles, including classic cars and unique models. This inaugural event aims to draw car enthusiasts and families alike, with free admission for participants who register in advance.

Following the car show, a festival will take place from 2 PM to 9 PM in downtown Fullerton, featuring a kids' area with bounce houses, carnival games, and mechanical rides. Attendees can also enjoy a range of food options from local vendors and food trucks, as well as beer and wine sales in partnership with the Fullerton Collaborative, which will benefit local nonprofits.

Live music will be a highlight of the evening, with the Scotty Mac Band performing from 6 PM to 9 PM. The celebration will culminate in a 15-minute fireworks display at 9 PM, launched from the Wilshire parking structure.

City officials emphasized the importance of safety during the event, particularly regarding the use of personal fireworks. Hernandez confirmed that personal fireworks will not be permitted within the event boundaries, and signage will be posted to inform attendees.

While many businesses in the area will be closed on the holiday, some, like Hapa Cupcakes and Bridal Hot Chicken, plan to remain open and participate in the festivities.
