New businesses set to revitalize downtown Adrian

In a recent meeting of the Downtown Adrian Main Street DDA Board, members approved sign applications for two new businesses, AMK Properties and Cornerstone Realty, located at 103-105 East Maumee Street. This decision marks a positive development for the downtown area, as both businesses are set to replace Rising Realty and Celebration Title. AMK Properties has acquired the building, and Jeff Rising, who previously operated Rising Realty, will now work with Cornerstone Realty. Rising submitted his resignation from the committee due to his new role but expressed his commitment to remain involved in community activities.

The board also discussed upcoming events, including the highly anticipated Welcome Back Bash scheduled for August 27. This event aims to foster community engagement and collaboration among local colleges and organizations, with expectations for it to be the best yet.

Additionally, the board is planning a unique September event—a motorcycle-themed night featuring Phil Comer, a world record holder for the longest motorcycle ride without hands. Comer will raise awareness and funds for Parkinson's research through the Michael J. Fox Foundation. The event will also include participation from the LASD Motorcycle Academy, Harley Davidson, and Michigan Biker Law, offering attendees opportunities to learn about motorcycle riding and support a charitable cause.
