Students Shine at Parkview Awards Night Celebrating Achievements

During a recent awards ceremony at Parkview, the accomplishments of students and faculty were celebrated, highlighting their dedication to community service, creativity, and leadership. The event recognized the efforts of the student council, led by Mrs. Farrell and Mrs. Smith, which successfully raised over $6,000 for the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, exceeding their initial goal of $2,000. Notably, student Abigail Foy was commended for her initiative in making and selling food for the Easter Bunny, donating $100 of her earnings to the charity.

The ceremony also featured the \"Artist of the Month\" award, introduced by kindergarten teacher Miss Camille, which showcased student artwork displayed in the school lobby. This month’s winners included Emily Giuliano, Andrew Preston, Azure Fitzgerald, and Julian Nesteral, who were recognized for their creativity.

Additionally, the 7th County Water Authority's poster contest on water conservation saw kindergarten student Theodore Cam among the winners, emphasizing the importance of environmental awareness among young learners.

The \"Author of the Month\" award was presented to several students from grades K-3, who submitted original stories. Winners included Grace Gepperts, Owen Dominic, and Philip Mastro, among others, with their works featured on Parkview TV and displayed in the school.

The evening concluded with heartfelt acknowledgments of the parents and community members who support the students, as well as a special tribute to board member Diane, who is stepping down after 12 years of service. Her contributions to the district were celebrated, with remarks on her dedication and ability to foster collaboration among board members.
