New appointments boost local schools with fresh talent

In a recent government meeting, the appointment of two new educators was announced, marking a significant step in enhancing the educational staff within the district. Dr. Craig introduced Ray Graham as the new school media specialist at William T. Rogers Middle School. Graham, a Kings Park graduate, has spent the last three years working part-time at the school's writing center, where he has been instrumental in helping students improve their writing skills. His previous experience also includes leading a replacement project at the school and coaching winter track and cross country at the high school level.

The meeting also welcomed Tyler Chavo, a recent graduate from the Crane School of Music at Potsdam, who has been appointed as the new music teacher at Barrajo Winter Indian School. Chavo impressed the hiring committee with his engaging teaching demonstration for fifth-grade students, showcasing his ability to connect with learners and energize the classroom environment.

In addition to these key appointments, Dr. Craig highlighted ongoing curriculum development at Kings Park High School and the need for additional services at Fort Zilaria Elementary School. The meeting concluded with a motion to accept the personnel changes, reflecting the district's commitment to strengthening its educational framework.
