New liquor licenses approved for Omaha's vibrant bar scene

During a recent city council meeting, several liquor license applications were approved, reflecting a growing interest in new business ventures within the community.

The council unanimously approved a Class C liquor license for Corrigan Enterprises, LLC, which plans to transform the former Retro Rewind space at 15475 Ruggle Street into an upscale lounge called The Dandelion. The establishment will operate from noon to midnight on weekdays, extending to 2 a.m. on weekends.

Another notable approval was granted to Board and Brush, a creative studio at 6016 Maple Street, which will offer DIY projects alongside a limited liquor service for attendees. This will be the first Board and Brush franchise in Nebraska, with operations focused on weekends.

Champagne Lanes and Ghost Donkey, a restaurant concept from Arizona, also received approval for a liquor license at 900-1020 Harney Street. The establishment is set to open in mid-September and aims to cater to the local community.

Scissors and Scotch, a men's grooming business at 2835 South 170th Plaza, was permitted to expand its liquor license to include a new indoor area, enhancing the grooming experience with complimentary drinks for clients.

Additionally, the Crescent Moon Ale House was granted a special designated liquor license for an outdoor event scheduled for September 27 and 28, featuring live music and extended hours.

The council also addressed several zoning matters, including the approval of a preliminary plan for Boyd's Edition and a rezoning request for properties on Dodge Street. While some council members expressed concerns about specific developments, the overall sentiment leaned towards supporting the changes to better align with community needs.

The meeting concluded with a series of unanimous votes, highlighting the council's commitment to fostering local business growth while navigating community concerns regarding development and zoning.
