City debates safety of shared bike lanes on residential roads

Another council member indicated that the presence of a sidewalk would make them more amenable to the idea of a shared roadway, especially given the existing low speed limit in the area.

However, not all council members were in favor of sharrows. One member explicitly stated their opposition, arguing that they prefer dedicated bike lanes over shared roadways, citing safety concerns.
