Catch Connect Launches Free Transit Service to Boost Ridership

In a recent government meeting, officials discussed the upcoming launch of the Catch Connect transportation service, set to begin next week. The service aims to enhance local transit options, with practice runs scheduled to familiarize drivers with the area.

Deborah, a committee member, reported on outreach efforts to housing developments, including an information session at Coolidge on July 16. This session will cover various transportation options available to residents, including the newly added Catch Connect service, which is now featured on the transportation committee's website alongside other options like van services and Uber.

Additionally, it was noted that the Catch Connect service will be fare-free from July 1 through the end of August as part of the state’s tri-transit program, designed to encourage public transit use.

The meeting also addressed an ongoing issue regarding Uber co-pay calculations, which remains unresolved but is on the agenda for follow-up.

Finally, the committee confirmed that the Sudbury Wayland Hospital shuttle service will commence on August 6, operating on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Communication regarding this service is being prepared to ensure residents are informed.
