Girl's journey from fear to empowerment after epilepsy diagnosis

Aubrey Brown, now 12 years old, shared her poignant journey with epilepsy, recounting the life-altering moment when she experienced her first tonic-clonic seizure on April 30, 2013. What began as a typical morning quickly transformed into a traumatic event, as she woke up disoriented and surrounded by unfamiliar faces in her home.

Two weeks later, Aubrey faced another seizure, leading to her diagnosis of epilepsy—a condition she initially knew little about. Her parents witnessed the frightening episodes, some lasting up to 30 minutes, leaving them helpless as they saw their daughter’s lips and feet turn blue.
