Community opts for quieter paddle courts over pickleball

In a recent government meeting, community officials discussed plans for the redevelopment of a recreational facility, focusing on the introduction of paddle courts in place of a previously proposed pickleball court. Residents expressed concerns about the noise generated by pickleball, leading to the decision to opt for paddle courts, which utilize tennis balls and are designed to minimize sound through enclosed plexiglass structures.

The new facility will be significantly smaller than the previous clubhouse, which had a much larger footprint. Officials confirmed that the entire recreation area is set to be demolished and redeveloped, with the new design incorporating various amenities, including tennis courts, a new lake, a pool area, and a tot lot. While the new building will occupy less space, the overall area will be utilized for enhanced recreational offerings.

This redevelopment aims to address community preferences while providing a quieter alternative to pickleball, reflecting the residents' desire for a more harmonious recreational environment.
