Three vendors provided quotes, with the first vendor offering the most competitive price of $34,000 for the mini-splits on the first floor and an additional $7,000 for a unit on the stage. The second vendor's quote was $37,500 for the first floor and $11,500 for the stage, while the third vendor's total came to $47,900, which included all electrical services.

The discussion highlighted the need for improved air conditioning, particularly in the town clerk's office, where airflow issues have been exacerbated by obstructed ducts. Officials noted that the current system has been unreliable, with frequent breaker trips and inadequate cooling. The mini-split systems were favored for their efficiency and ability to address specific temperature control issues in various rooms.

Funding for the project is anticipated to come from a combination of the capital reserve for infrastructure and the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The board expressed a preference for the first vendor due to their previous positive experiences with the company and the lower cost of their proposal.
