During a recent meeting of the Canton Township Board of Trustees, a significant resolution was passed recognizing the heroic actions of several individuals who played a crucial role in saving a life during a cardiac emergency. The incident occurred on April 6 at the Summit on the Park, where a 17-year-old guest suffered a cardiac arrest while playing basketball.
The resolution honored Amber Lineberger, Audrey Roth, Evan Montezzi, Ben van Horn, Gus Cardosa, Noah Solomon, and Tandeep Singh for their prompt and effective response. Lineberger reassured the patient's family, while Roth retrieved the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and assisted with CPR. Montezzi administered CPR and managed the AED, and van Horn helped provide oxygen. Cardosa and Solomon assisted with crowd control and guided emergency personnel to the scene, while Singh also aided in managing the situation.
The board expressed gratitude for the quick actions of these individuals, emphasizing that every second counts in emergencies. The Canton Fire Department highlighted the importance of community involvement in such situations, noting that the young man is now recovering and walking with assistance.
The meeting also featured heartfelt remarks from the patient's family, who expressed their deep appreciation for the lifesaving efforts of the responders. The family shared their emotional journey, underscoring the significance of the community's support during a challenging time.
The resolution was unanimously supported by the board, and the individuals recognized were invited to the front of the room for a photo opportunity, celebrating their commendable contributions to the Canton community.
