In a recent government meeting, officials discussed the implementation of a third shuttle service aimed at improving transportation efficiency during peak events. The shuttle is designed to provide a faster and more convenient alternative to driving, which often involves challenges such as parking fees and limited availability. The public is being encouraged to utilize this free shuttle service, particularly when parking at rodeo grounds reaches capacity.
To facilitate this transition, a public information board will be installed on Main Street, clearly indicating when parking is full and directing visitors to alternative parking locations. The board will be updated in real-time to ensure timely communication with the public.
Additionally, the meeting highlighted progress on various grant projects. Notably, the youth art park at 3 Rio Grande has been successfully completed and closed out in collaboration with Carbondale Arts. Another significant project, focused on ADA access improvements at the Crystal River Restoration Project, has also reached completion, with a few remaining grants still pending closure.
Officials expressed optimism that these initiatives will alleviate parking issues and enhance community access to local events and facilities.
