Mayor proclaims Juneteenth a day of celebration and action

During the regular village board meeting on June 18, 2024, Mayor Paul Overt of Mount Prospect opened the session by welcoming attendees and calling the roll of trustees, all of whom were present. The meeting commenced with the Pledge of Allegiance, led by Trustee Sacatelli.

The board approved the minutes from the previous meeting held on June 4, 2024, with unanimous consent from all trustees.

A significant highlight of the meeting was the mayor's proclamation recognizing June 19, 2024, as Juneteenth in Mount Prospect. Mayor Overt emphasized the historical importance of Juneteenth, marking the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in the United States were informed of their freedom.
