City mourns loss of two legal pillars in Anaheim

The Anaheim City Council convened recently to honor the memory of two esteemed members of the city attorney's office who passed away: former assistant city attorney Moses Johnson and deputy city attorney Brian Fox. Johnson, who dedicated nearly 30 years to the city, was recognized for his exceptional skills as a municipal trial attorney, particularly in defending the Anaheim Police Department. His commitment to the city and its law enforcement was deeply appreciated by colleagues and community members alike.

Brian Fox, who served the city for 27 years, was noted for his extensive experience in the prosecutor's office, having tried over 90 jury trials. Since 2017, he led the domestic violence unit, collaborating closely with local law enforcement and justice organizations. Fox was respected throughout the criminal justice system for his integrity and dedication to public safety. His passing has left a significant impact on the community, especially as his wife, Jennifer, is also a city employee.

The council expressed their condolences and concluded the meeting in memory of Johnson and Fox, reflecting on their contributions to the city and the profound loss felt by their families and colleagues. Following the memorial, the meeting proceeded with an invocation led by Pastor Joel Van Solen from Anaheim Christian Reformed Church, who offered prayers for peace and guidance in light of recent national events, including the attempted assassination of former President Trump and ongoing global conflicts. The council also pledged allegiance to the flag, reaffirming their commitment to the community and its values.
